Services

Sea View Marine Sciences provides underwater acoustics support (Passive Acoustic Monitoring, PAM) for real-time monitoring of bio-acoustics of marine mammals, and industrial applications including dredging, pile driving, drilling, near shore blasting, ambient noise, and underwater detonations.

Sea View Marine Sciences has expertise in high-frequency monitoring for Incidental Harassment Authorization permit compliance in the US. Underwater monitoring includes passive acoustic monitoring for marine mammals, real-time sound pressure levels (SPLs), and computation of cumulative sound exposure levels (SELs).

Sea View Marine Sciences provide the following professional services:

  • Professional environmental monitors for marine mammals, sea birds and turtles – including accredited Marine Mammal Observers (MMOs)
  • Environmental Assessment data collection and synthesis
  • Endangered Species Research
  • First Nations Training Programs
  • Water Quality Sampling
  • Vessel Operations
  • Field and Logistical Support
  • Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM)
  • Calibrated Hydrophones
  • Vessel Charter

Sea View Marine Sciences professional experience includes a range of projects including those that require confidentiality.

Marine Mammal, Sea Bird and Turtle Monitoring

Sea View Marine Sciences provides experienced and professional wildlife observers for marine mammals (MMOs), sea birds and turtles, including certified Protected Species Observers (PSOs).

Our team is experienced with a range of species from the Canadian Arctic to the tropical waters of the Galapagos Islands. Our team also has expertise with highly endangered and cryptic marine mammals such as Vaquita – found only in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico.

Sea View Marine Sciences also works with sea bird and turtle expert advisors when required.

Underwater Acoustic Monitoring

Sea View Marine Sciences provides underwater acoustics support (including Passive Acoustic Monitoring, PAM) for real-time monitoring of bio-acoustics of marine mammals, and industrial applications including dredging, pile driving, ambient noise, and underwater detonations.

Sea View Marine Sciences has expertise in high-frequency monitoring for Incidental Harassment Authorization permit compliance in the US. Underwater monitoring includes passive acoustic monitoring for marine mammals, real-time sound pressure levels (SPLs) for mitigation, and computation of cumulative sound exposure levels (SELs).

Vessel Charter

Sea View Marine Sciences also provides vessel charter services with certified captains. Our research vessel, Monobel, is ideal for all types of coastal operations.

Our teams’ expertise draws upon decades of experience with commercial maritime operations including numerous propulsion systems: rudder, outdrive, outboard, jets and surface drives, as well as commercial experience on coastal tugs. Sea View Marine Sciences captains are familiar with coastal and offshore waters, standard navigational equipment and pilotage.

Sea View Marine Sciences also has extensive experience with field operations logistical support including remote field camp mobilization and demobilization, small vessel operation, independent research in remote locations, and environmental and biological sample acquisition.
